You may be asking yourself diffusing oils, but why should I? Is it just so the house will smell good? The answer in part is yes and no. Join me and I will explain everything you need to know about diffusing essential oils.
Essential Oils
Essential oils are the well-kept secret that is expanding into today’s modern holistic wellness. More and more people today want an alternative to the chemically prepared products that we have grown accustomed to in the past 20-30 years. We are smarter today and not buying into all the commercially based chemical laden hype that we have been sold in the past few years. This post may contain affiliate links, which means I make a small commission at no extra cost to you. See my full disclosure here and here.
We are now asking questions and are becoming more responsible for our own wellness. Hence, the use of natural pure essential oils.
Why should you Diffuse Oils?
Essential oils can be an effective healing tool. Besides the wonderful natural way of scenting your home, it can affect your mood and your health. Diffusion is an easy way to deploy the therapeutic benefits of the essential oils.
Why I only use Young Living Oils
I only use Young Living oils for many reasons. I have tried other brands and have never been happy with them.
- Young Living is the only essential oil company that owns their own farms or partners with farms that are willing to live up to their standards of growing, harvesting, and distilling.
- Essential oils sold in most health food stores are aroma-grade or fragrance-grade oils, they don’t offer the same therapeutic and medicinal benefits as Young Living oils do.
- Young Living oils will not expire, therefore they will last indefinitely if properly stored and kept away from heat and sunlight.
- Young Living has been producing the finest quality oils for over 20 years.
- Young Living uses the best production practices in the industry.
- Young Living is the only essential oil company in the world with a Seed to Seal process since they control every single aspect of production.
Diffusing Oils
Diffusing oils can be done in many ways. You don’t have to have a diffuser to enjoy aromatherapy.
You can put a few drops of oil on a cotton ball and place in your car while you’re driving on short trips or long extended trips. The aroma will revive or relax, while the oil’s aromatic properties instill their therapeutic value at a cellular level. What a wonderful way of getting your work day started.
You can also put some drops on a handkerchief or small piece of cloth to inhale the aromatic properties of the oils.
Other Ways of Diffusing Oil
There are many other ways of diffusing oils today. There are some commercially designed pendants and bracelets that you put a few drops of essential oils and continuously inhale the fresh therapeutic aromatic properties of the oils. Of course, there is always a diffuser.
You can also make room sprays by combining your favorite oils with distilled water in a dark glass spray bottle to spray in the room. You can get one of these bottles here.
Diffusion
Diffusion is a method that expels essential oil molecules in the air by combining your essential oils with distilled water in a special device (a diffuser).
Ultrasonic Diffusion
Another method of diffusion is ultrasonic diffusion. This method uses sonic waves to create a more delicate mist containing microscopic droplets of the essential oils and water. These droplets are dispersed in the air which adds a dimension of appeal.
Electric Diffusion
These diffusers use electricity and are often found in the home. The electricity warms the essential oil and a fan in the diffuser increases the evaporation and dispersion of the oil.
Oils to Diffuse
There are many oils to diffuse in combination with one another for specific needs. There are mood enhancers, wellness oils, aromatherapy, cleansing oils, and many more combinations.
Combinations of Oils to Diffuse
I have many combinations of diffusing oils and will share some of my favorites with you. The following recipe is for air purification and a sense of restfulness.
